Airport Way Luton LU2 9LY
London Luton Airport processes millions of passengers a year and has extensive car parking options to ensure it caters to all of them. There are several considerations when looking for parking at Luton airport, including price and convenience, as well as whether you need/want any of the priority benefits.
One of the main considerations, however, is whether you should go for official or unofficial.
Let’s take a closer look at both of these options and the parking they offer.
Official parking at Luton airport is provided by the airport itself and is often closer but more expensive. It also provides all of the following:
Park Mark Certified Pre-book Discounts Blue Badge Parking Spaces Disabled Parking Accreditation
Options include:
The Long Stay car park at London Luton Airport is a 10-minute shuttle bus journey away from the terminal. It’s a self-park option, so you simply arrive at the car park, find a space, and then keep your keys as you wait for one of the regular shuttle buses to take you to the airport.
It’s secure and while you can—and perhaps should—book in advance, it’s not necessary.
Luton Mid Stay Parking is also 10 minutes away from the terminal and offers many of the same benefits, sure as 24/7 security patrols.
The difference is that you need to walk those 10 minutes and there is no shuttle bus. It’s a good option for mid-length stays when you don’t have too much luggage to carry around and are happy with a short walk to and from the terminal.
The Terminal Car Parks at Luton Airport are basically the Short Stay options. Terminal Car Park 1, for instance, is just 4 minutes away from the terminal on foot.
It’s self-park, so you keep your keys, and the car park is linked to the terminal via a footbridge.
Terminal Car Park 2 is a multi-storey car park that sits about 5 minutes away from the terminal building on foot. As with Terminal Car Park 1, it’s great for short stays and you keep your keys.
Priority Parking is one of the most expensive options, but it’s also the most convenient.
It’s a Meet & Greet service, so you simply drive to the car park, hand over your keys, and let a valet take over. There’s no driving around looking for spaces, and as the car park is only a 3-minute walk from the terminal, you’ll be at check-in before you know it.
There are security patrols around the clock to keep all cars safe and every member of the valet staff is trained and insured.
Unofficial options are provided by third party operators. They still use secure car parks and they are also reputable services. Furthermore, they tend to be much cheaper, as our example table (see below) and our search results show. However, the car parks are located further from the airport.
The process begins when you into the car photo booth and wait a few seconds for pictures to be taken. It scans your entire car, so it knows if there are any new scratches or dents when it is returned.
After the scan, head for an arrival lane, pick up your luggage, and then head to the check-in building. You’ll receive a key tag and a ticket. Attach the former to your keys and drop them in the blue box outside.
Your car will be parked and secured. When you return, it will be scanned again to check for damage and then your keys will be returned.
The shuttle bus takes about 14 minutes.
As above, the Drop & Go process is smooth and automated, and it also ensures that your car remains safe and any issues are noted. Transfer time is between 12 and 14 minutes.
A self-serve parking option that has been given a Park Mark Safer Parking away. After you have parked, just wait by one of the bus stops. Shuttle buses swing by every 20 minutes and will get you to the terminal in between 12 and 14 minutes.
A self-park option that runs regular shuttle buses. It takes you around 14 minutes to get to the airport from one of these buses. The car parks are monitored around the clock.
A secure, 24/7 car park that is just a few minutes away from the airport. You still need a bus transfer, but it only takes about 4 or 5 minutes.
Another short run service that will get you to the terminal quickly and without fuss. You keep your keys and your car will remain safe throughout.
A Meet & Greet service that takes place in an off-site area about 7 minutes away from the terminal on foot. It differs from standard Meet & Greets in that your car will also be washed, waxed, vacuumed, and given the full once-over.
